Honda is well-known for its commitment to safety, a fact evidenced by its inclusion of Honda Sensing® technologies as standard equipment on almost every model. And it's those advanced driver aids that helped six 2021 Honda nameplates garner a TOP SAFETY PICK (TSP) or TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS), including:
All six models come standard with Honda Sensing® Collision Mitigation Braking System™, which earned a SUPERIOR rating for vehicle-to-vehicle frontal crash prevention. Additional standard driver aids include Forward Collision Warning, Road Departure Mitigation with Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist System, and Adaptive Cruise Control.
Also instrumental in earning the IIHS recognition was Honda's proprietary Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure, which helped each model achieve the highest possible rating of "GOOD" in all six crashworthiness evaluations, including the notoriously challenging passenger-side small overlap test. TSP-rated vehicles must also achieve an “ADVANCED” or “SUPERIOR” rating in vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations, as well as “GOOD” or “ACCEPTABLE” ratings for available headlights. TSP+ rated vehicles must achieve “GOOD” or “ACCEPTABLE” ratings for their standard headlights.
Additionally, every 2021 Honda model that has been fully evaluated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) NCAP testing has received a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score2.
